REGISTERED NURSE

- JOB PURPOSEThe jobholder is responsible to provide personalised, and cost-effective care to the patients in the nursing home in accordance to established policies and procedures, standards of nursing care and practices. He/she deputizes the NM in her absence.

- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- 2.1 Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- 2.1.1 Complies with approved standards of nursing practices
- 2.1.2 Provides nursing services requiring substantial and specialised nursing skills.
- 2.1.3 Works closely with patient’s doctor and multidisciplinary team to provide care to the patients
- 2.1.4 Updates on changes in patient’s conditions and needs.
- 2.1.5 Ensures care delivery and nursing interventions as outlined in the care plan.
- 2.1.6 Evaluates the patient’s response to care interventions and recommends revision of care plan as necessary.
- 2.1.7 Works with Allied Health professionals and/or initiate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures.
- 2.1.8 Carries out and supervise assessments of new admissions.
- 2.1.9 Prepares and administers medications to residents and comply with safe medication practices.
- 2.1.10 Responsible for safe keeping of control drugs.
- 2.1.11 Participates in training and development of care staff.
- 2.1.12 Manages any emergency that arises and ensure prompt actions to mitigate the situation and escalate promptly to supervisor, where necessary.
- 2.1.13 Works with staff to maintain a safe and clean environment in the nursing home.
- 2.2 Secondary Responsibilities and duties
- 2.2.1 Participates in quality assurance activities to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care.
- 2.2.2 Participates in quality audits that are planned and conducted periodically.
- 2.2.3 Contributes to the evaluation of staff performance appraisal with Nurse Manager
- 2.2.4 Deputizes the NM in his/her absence.
- 2.2.5 Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned by Nursing Manager,Senior Nurse Manager, and Head (Nursing).
- JOB SPECIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS
- 3.1 Qualifications and Experience
- 3.1.1 Locally Trained Registered Nurse with Advanced Diploma in Nursing/Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- 3.1.2 Foreign Trained Registered Nurse with Degree or Diploma in Nursing with Board Pass (Professional Regulation Council, PRC)
- 3.1.3 Registration with Singapore Nursing Board.
- 3.2 Abilities and Attributes
- 3.2.1 Strong sense of integrity.
- 3.2.2 Possesses good inter-personal and supervisory skills
SENIOR STAFF NURSE
