The jobholder is responsible to provide personalised and cost-effective care to the patients in the nursing home in accordance to established policies and procedures, standards of nursing care and practices. He/she deputizes the NM in her absence.

Job Description

• Complies with approved standards of nursing practices.
• Provides nursing services requiring substantial and specialized nursing skills
• Works closely with resident’s doctor and multidisciplinary team to provide care to the patients
• Updates on changes in patient’s conditions and needs
• Ensures care delivery and nursing interventions as outlined in the care plan
• Evaluates the patient’s response to care interventions and recommends revision of care plan as necessary
• Works with Allied Health professionals and/or initiate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures
• Carries out and supervise assessments of new admissions
• Prepares and administers medications to residents and comply with safe practices
• Responsible for safe keeping of control drugs
• Participates in training and development of staff
• Prepares roster and daily staff assignment for the ward/department
• Manages any emergency that arises and ensure prompt actions to mitigate the situation and escalate promptly to supervisor, where necessary
• Works with staff to maintain a safe and clean environment in the nursing home
• Participates in quality assurance activities to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care
• Participates in quality audits that are planned and conducted periodically
• Contributes to the evaluation of staff performance appraisal with Nurse Manager
• Deputizes the NM in his/her absence
• Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned by Nursing Manager, Senior Nurse Manager and Head or Director of Nursing

Requirements

• Min Diploma in Nursing.
• Possess valid SNB license.
• Good communication skills with a strong passion to work with the elderly.
• Able to work 12 hours rotating shifts.

The jobholder supports and assists the Allied Health Department in the therapy sessions for the patients of the nursing home

Job Description

• Prepare treatment room for clients by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
• Prepare clients for physical therapy treatment by welcoming, comforting, providing and/or assisting patient into physical therapy apparel or apertures.
• Provide information to clients by answering questions and requests; allaying fears.
• Help treat clients by applying heat packs; assisting clients and helping clients onto exercise equipment, monitoring motion; tracking walking time and distance; measuring mobility; performing prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques
• Educate clients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines
• Maintain client’s confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Provide equipment and supplies by sterilizing and delivering equipment and supplies to treatment area; positioning equipment for therapist access; positioning clients on equipment
