OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
1. OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Responsibilities:

  • Assess an individual’s level of independent functioning, selection and teaching of task-oriented therapeutic activities.
  • Design rehabilitation plan of treatment to achieve the Resident’s rehabilitation goals.
  • Supervise the therapy aide in their daily activities
  • Provide information to clients by answering questions and requests; allaying fears.
  • Adhere to professional standards, policies and procedures.
  • Enhance organization reputation by providing excellent service, accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to the job.
  • Educate clients to proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
  • Ensure safe and clean environment and keep client’s information confidential.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy with full registration from AHPC
  • Experience working with the elderly would be an advantage
  • Good team player with strong communication skills. Ability to converse in dialects will be an added advantage
  • Preferably with 2 years of related working experience in a healthcare setting

 

REGISTERED NURSE
    1. JOB PURPOSEThe jobholder is responsible to provide personalised, and cost-effective care to the patients in the nursing home in accordance to established policies and procedures, standards of nursing care and practices. He/she deputizes the NM in her absence.

 

    1. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
      • 2.1 Primary Responsibilities and Duties
        • 2.1.1     Complies with approved standards of nursing practices
        • 2.1.2     Provides nursing services requiring substantial and specialised nursing skills.
        • 2.1.3     Works closely with patient’s doctor and multidisciplinary team to provide care to the patients
        • 2.1.4     Updates on changes in patient’s conditions and needs.
        • 2.1.5     Ensures care delivery and nursing interventions as outlined in the care plan.
        • 2.1.6     Evaluates the patient’s response to care interventions and recommends revision of care plan as necessary.
        • 2.1.7     Works with Allied Health professionals and/or initiate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures.
        • 2.1.8     Carries out and supervise assessments of new admissions.
        • 2.1.9     Prepares and administers medications to residents and comply with safe medication practices.
        • 2.1.10   Responsible for safe keeping of control drugs.
        • 2.1.11   Participates in training and development of care staff.
        • 2.1.12   Manages any emergency that arises and ensure prompt actions to mitigate the situation and escalate promptly to supervisor, where necessary.
        • 2.1.13   Works with staff to maintain a safe and clean environment in the nursing home.

       

      • 2.2 Secondary Responsibilities and duties
        • 2.2.1 Participates in quality assurance activities to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care.
        • 2.2.2 Participates in quality audits that are planned and conducted periodically.
        • 2.2.3 Contributes to the evaluation of staff performance appraisal with Nurse Manager
        • 2.2.4 Deputizes the NM in his/her absence.
        • 2.2.5 Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned by Nursing Manager,Senior Nurse Manager, and Head (Nursing).

SENIOR STAFF NURSE

THERAPY AIDE
    1. JOB PURPOSEThe jobholder supports and assists the Allied Health Department in the therapy sessions for the patients of the nursing home.

 

    1. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
      • 2.1 Primary Responsibilities and Duties
        • 2.1.1 Prepare treatment room for clients by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
        • 2.1.2 Prepare clients for physical therapy treatment by welcoming, comforting, providing and/or assisting patient into physical therapy apparel or apertures.
        • 2.1.3 Provide information to clients by answering questions and requests; allaying fears.
        • 2.1.4 Help treat clients by applying heat packs; assisting clients and helping clients onto exercise equipment, monitoring motion; tracking walking time and distance; measuring mobility; performing prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques.
        • 2.1.4 Educate clients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
        • 2.1.5 Maintain client’s confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
        • 2.1.6 Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures,rules, and regulations.
        • 2.1.7 Provide equipment and supplies by sterilizing and delivering equipment and supplies to treatment area; positioning equipment for therapist access; positioning clients on equipment.
        • 2.1.8 Ensure operation of physical therapy equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instruction;troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
        • 2.1.9 Maintain physical therapy supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
        • 2.1.10 Adhere to professional standards, policies and procedures.
      • 2.2 Secondary Responsibilities and duties

CARE ASSISTANT
    1. JOB PURPOSEResponsible for assisting and/or supervising home-bound clients in their activities of daily living in the clients’ homes so the elderly can continue to live in their home with dignity, safety and comfort.

 

  1. MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
    • A. Specific
      • Provides general house-keeping duties to ensure a neat, clean, safe and conducive environment for the client.
      • Provide laundry duties using washing machine sited in the clients’ home.
      • Provide companionship and Recreational Activities for the clients.
      • Provide escort service to accompany clients to do grocery shopping or other social activities in the community.
      • Provide Mentally Stimulating Activities for clients.
      • Demonstrates and maintains good interpersonal skills with clients, Staff and public at all times to build co-operation and trust.
      • Collect cash payment from clients and issue official receipts to clients.
      • Prepare weekly cash collection report for submission to Accounts Department.
    • B. General
      • Conducts himself/herself professionally in his/her work and communication with others.
      • Attends relevant training programmes to maintain skill competency.
      • Performs other duties as assigned by the Centre/Program Manager
SENIOR PHYSIOTHERAPIST
  1. JOB PURPOSEThe jobholder assists the Allied Health Department to ensure the smooth operations of the nursing home.
  2. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • 2.1 Primary Responsibilities and Duties
      • 2.1.1 Ensure a high standard of clinical practice and conduct, and participate actively in pursuing continual professional development
      • 2.1.2 Work independently in managing complex cases and be professionally accredited to perform physiotherapy procedures for specialised patient cohorts
      • 2.1.3 Specialisation / Interest areas in Geriatric Physiotherapy
      • 2.1.4 Proven ability to lead and manage a team of Physiotherapists
    • 2.2 Secondary Responsibilities and duties
      • 2.2.1 Any other relevant work as assigned by supervisor

     

  3. JOB SPECIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS
    • 3.1 Qualifications and Experience
      • 3.1.1 Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
      • 3.1.2 Min 4-5 years of relevant experience for Senior position with at least 2-3 years in area of specialization
      • 3.1.3 Registered with AHPC (Full Registration)

LAUNDRY ASSISTANT
  1. JOB PURPOSEThe jobholder assists the Nursing Department to ensure the smooth operations of the nursing home.
  2. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • 2.1 Primary Responsibilities and Duties
      • 2.1.1 Assist to bring dirty laundry from the wards to the laundry room.
      • 2.1.2 Manage laundry room and ensure cleanliness
      • 2.1.3 Carry out laundry duties independently, including washing, drying and folding of clothes and bed linens.
      • 2.1.4 Sorting of clean clothes and bed linens before returning them to the wards.
      • 2.1.5 Mend minor torn clothes and linens.
      • 2.1.6 Separate wash for infectious linens.
      • 2.1.7 Ensure infection control measures in place when dealing with infectious linens.

     

    • 2.2 Secondary Responsibilities and duties
      • 2.2.1 Any other relevant work as assigned by supervisor
